€50,000 prize for entities supporting businesses

The government has launched the National Business Support Awards, Minister for the Economy, European Funds and Lands Silvio Schembri announced.

“As a government, we are committed to creating a businessfriendly environment, and we should also encourage other public entities to help foster a business environment,” he said.

Minister Schembri said that the government should support industry and offer all the help it can when needed. “The past two years have been an example of why the government and industry should pull the same rope in order for the country to move forward.”

The competition has two main sections: Section A: Public Departments and Entities and Local Councils and Public-Private Partnerships; and Section B is for Non-Governmental Organisations, Trade Unions, Professional Associations, Public and Church Schools, Public Educational Institutions, the University of Malta and Business Organisations. Each section includes several categories.

The winner of each category will receive a prize of €15,000, while the runner-up will receive €8,000. More information can be found on: https://commerce.gov.mt/ an d https://www.facebook.com/nsbamalta.
