417 new Covid-19 patients, active cases exceed 5,000 again

The number of active Covid-19 cases has risen again above 5,000, after 417 new patients were registered, figures released by the health authorities show.

It is the first time, since 23 April, that Malta has more than 5,000 cases.

At present, the number is 5,207.

In all, 101,453 cases have been registered in Malta, with 95,110 recoveries.

The Health Ministry has stopped publishing daily bulletins on social media, which show details about the pandemic in Malta.

Data is still being published by the Health Ministry’s COVID-19 Public Health Response Team on an open source database via the platform GitHub, although certain details such as the number of positive Covid-19 cases in hospital, and the details about the people who had died, are not being included in the dataset.
