Two hospitalised after three-vehicle crash
Two people have been hospitalised, after they were involved in a traffic accident that took place between three vehicles on Sunday.
Police said that the traffic accident occurred on Sunday at around 7:30pm in Vjal ir-Rihan in San Ġwann.
Preliminary investigations showed that a crash occurred between a BMW i3s being driven by a 68-year-old man from Naxxar, and a VW Polo being driven by a 29-year-old woman from Iklin.
Upon impact, one of the cars ended up in the opposite lane, and hit a Peugeot Tweet motorcycle being ridden by a 51-year-old man from Swieqi.
The motorcyclist and the woman were taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance, and were later certified as suffering from grievous injuries.
A 40-year-old man from San Gwann, who was a passenger in the VW Polo, and the driver of the BMW did not suffer any injuries.
Police investigations are still ongoing.
