Biker critical, another three in hospital after Marsascala by-pass crash

A biker is in crtical condition after getting involved in an accident on the Marsascala bypass on Saturday evening.

The police said that the accident, apart from the bike, a Piaggio, involved three cars.

The cars were a Mazda Demio, driven by a 44-year-old man from Marsascala, which was being driven in the direction of the locality, an Opel Corsa driven by a man from Nepal, aged 28, who had a 31year-old woman from Nepal riding as a passenger, and a Hyundai i30 driven by a 65year-old man from Paola, with the latter two vehicles and the bike being driven in the other direction.

The biker, aged 25, suffered serious injuries.

The Nepalese duo and the 44year-old driver were also hospitalised, with slight injuries.

Magistrate Josette Demicoli is leading an inquiry.
