IEEE R8 Robot championships are back!

Did you know that the 2022 Robot championships formally known as IEEE Robot wars organised by the IEEE Malta Section and IEEE region 8 professional and educational activities subcommittee will be held in Malta this autumn.

This year’s revamped competition has a lot in store for all the participants. Robot championship aims to promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) among IEEE members and will focus on STEM communication, entrepreneurship, creativity, problemsolving and teamwork. This is a great learning experience where you get to put your engineering skills into practice and enhance other skills throughout the competition.

If accepted into the Robot Championship 2022, each team of roboteers will need to apply for at least two STEM activities. These two activities must be performed before the physical event in Malta. Maltese students will not be the only participants but they will be challenging students from IEEE student branches abroad.

Ready to challenge robots? The four games planned for this championship are Time to Fall, Death Clock, Weight Game and Hanging Hazard.

Any University student can participate. Participants from foreign countries who form part of the IEEE branch are also eligible. The competition is planned to be held towards the end of November but applications are open until 28 June.
