Traffic and tourists

Reference is made to the letter ‘Traffic and Tourists’ published on Sunday 31st July. Malta Public Transport is committed to addressing passengers’ needs and concerns and has looked into this incident.

On the day in question, extensive roadworks were being carried out in Pietà which unfortunately led to an unforeseeable gridlock, delaying several buses including Bus 895 on Route X4. Similarly, buses currently cannot enter the airport due to ongoing road works.

While Malta Public Transport operates a Control Room through which it monitors the bus service in real time, in this case it was not possible to offer any alternative due to the heavy delays that were experienced across the public transport service.

The company regrets the disruptions to the service and strives to update passengers about any changes to the service through its website and the Tallinja App.
